British production duo La Roux have released a new video for their upcoming single, “Let Me Down Gently.”

Following their Grammy award-winning 2009 self-titled release, La Roux have been relatively quiet. All of that, however, is about to change with their forthcoming album, Trouble in Paradise, due out July 8th.

“I like to think everything on the album could be a single. If not, then why the f— is it on there?” Billboard quotes singer Elly Jackson as saying in her first interview since the announcement of the new release.

“You have to make the record that you want to make, when you want to make it,” she told them.

Those who weather the long build of “Let Me Down Gently” will be pleasantly surprised to find they haven’t lost the beat. Completely inline with contemporary releases from someone like MØ or Mr. Little Jeans, the track has an almost Fleetwood Mac feel to it — a welcome departure from the sing-song falsetto of the first album.

If this is the sound of things to come, we have a lot to look forward to.
