Jenny Lewis plays “Just One of the Guys” on The Tonight Show

Jenny Lewis celebrated the release of her third studio album, The Voyager, by playing the first single, “Just One of the Guys” on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon last night.

The album is out today.

Good news and bad news.

Good news:
Jenny Lewis released the first video from her upcoming album The Voyager today.

“Just One of the Guys” features appearances from Kristen Stewart, Brie Larson, and Anne Hathaway, all dressed as the worst kind of men.

“There’s only one difference between you and me / When I look at myself all I can see / I’m just another / Lady without a baby,” sings Lewis in the breakdown. The video also has Lewis sitting on a toilet looking at a positive pregnancy test.

Jenny’s 38 these days, and one has to wonder if that ticking clock she talks about isn’t a bit autobiographical.

Bad news:
Kristen Stewart makes that face.

Cinematic, operatic, and downright beautiful.

These words could be used with equal accuracy to describe Lewis’ newest release from her forthcoming album or the singer herself.

The song is the first full release since the teaser dropped last month.

Jenny Lewis released the first track from her new album The Voyager entitled, “Just One of the Guys.”

The track was produced by Beck, but the album was recorded at Ryan Adams’ PaxAm studio in Los Angeles.

The new record is available on iTunes, and is slated for release on July 27th.

Jenny Lewis released a 15 second clip of some scenes in the studio with some songs from her new album playing in the background.

The album is due to be released on July 29th, and according to Rolling Stone, it’s being produced and recorded by Ryan Adams at his all-vintage PaxAm studio, with additional production handled by Beck and Johnathon Rice.

This will be her third studio album, following 2006′s Rabbit Fur Coat and 2009′s Acid Tongue. The teaser definitely has a beat to it, closer to some of Adams’ more up-tempo work, which would mark a departure from the sweet swinging ballads of the previous records.
