Weird Al releases “Happy” parody, “Tacky”

Weird Al took on the biggest song of last spring with his new track, “Tacky.”

The song parodies Pharrell Williams’ hit, “Happy,” and was produced by Nerdist.

It features

Guest appearances from comedians Aisha Tyler, Margaret Cho, Eric Stonestreet, Kristen Schaal and Jack Black, the video shot on location at the historic Palace Theatre in Downtown Los Angeles, the same space that was used as Julianne Moore’s apartment in The Big Lebowski.

In his treatment of what is tacky, Weird Al does not discriminate. Targeting tacky hipsters (“I instagram every meal I’ve had / All my used Lincoln bibles are on display”), tacky bros (“I get drunk at the bank and take off my shirt”), tacky Hollywood types (“And now I’m dropping names, like constantly”) — none are spared in this genocide of bad taste.

Update:
It turns out this is only the first of 8 music videos in 8 days that Weird Al will be releasing.
