6 Fall Music Festivals That Are Better Than Summer Fests

Which festival do you think is the best? Vote below! Summer’s here and festival season is in full swing. Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, EDC — some créme de la cremé of music festivals come about during the long days and blistering temperatures of the summer months. But some of the country’s best festivals are held each fall and have […]

Hear the new Jack U track with Kiesza, “Take Me There”

Diplo slipped released a preview of the new Jack U track, “Take Me There,” during a recent set in Paris. Jack U is a collaboration between Diplo and Skrillex. The track features vocals from Kiesza, whom I am predicting to have a meteoric rise in the very near future. It’s a pretty typical sound for […]

Watch Jack White cover Lorde’s “Royals”

The original was removed from youtube, and this new version only has a snippet of audio.  The surprises keep coming from Jack White on his Lazaretto tour. After covering Jay Z’s “99 Problems” at a recent stop, the reigning king of the blues covered New Zealand pop-princess Lorde’s chart topper, but with a decidedly Whitean […]

Hear the Future Islands remix of Phantogram’s “Black Out Days”

It’s no secret: I love Phantogram. I’d also say “Black Out Days” is my favorite track from this years full-length Voices, which is a strong contender for my top-10 albums of 2014. This rendition feels lighter, not as passionate as the original. The tempo dropped, verbed out square waves became more prominent, but the track […]

Jack White covers Jay Z’s “99 Problems” during “Icky Thump” at Forecastle Music Festival

Jack White gave the attendees of Forecastle Music Festival an unexpected surprise last weekend when he covered “99 Problems” during the white stripes song, “Icky Thump.” Considering we’re still in the post-divorce phase of Jack White’s career and his recent words about not speaking to Meg White, I have to wonder if that choice isn’t […]

Weezer releases new track, “Back to the Shack,” their first since 2010

I love Weezer. Some of my fondest memories from high school are of driving around with a car full of people singing Pinkerton with it cranked to top volume. Today’s newset track is an anthem for the old days, a tribute to an era of discovery, when they were still unsure about whether this is […]
